Legislation
One of the primary missions of the Mandeville Tea Party is to monitor legislation and become more involved in the political process. There are some great resources on the web that make this possible: http://www.govtrack.us/ , http://www.opencongress.org/ , and http://www.opensecrets.org/ provide detailed data, free of charge and customizable to your interest.

Marc, Fred, Kevin & the Rest of you on the MTP Legislative Committee:
GREAT Job!! Just spotted the MoveOn.org Alert and immediately called Sentator Landrieu’s N.O. office. Spoke to “Rose”. After getting out only one simple, quiet, polite and respectful sentence to the effect, “I’m calling to ask that you tell the Senator that the Jon Johansen family of Mandeville does not wish for her to support a government run universal health care system.”, she abruptly hung up. And when I asked her name after introducing myself, there was a long hesitation before she replied, “Rose”. I had no opportunity to state anything further so it’s good that I was succinct. ( I’m not know for being succinct.)
Frustrated, I immediately called her Washington office and found a gentleman considerably more polite, even receptive. He didn’t really respond but at least he had the good sense and common courtesy to listen.
I really appreciate your being atop these hot issues, Jon
